Sister Ships

Crew,

Last month saw the closure of many sims, some of which were our sister ships. I was very sad to see these games close down, so I have been on somewhat of a diplomatic mission the last few weeks, trying to establish relations with new sims and COs. So, it is my pleasure to announce that as of July 1st, we have three new sister ships in OF! This puts our sister ship total at five, and I would personally like to mention and endorse each of them.

Our first and oldest sister ship is USS Illustrious, commanded by CMDR James Hurin, who happens to be our very own Chief Engineering Officer, Markum Quinn (Matt). Illustrious is an Insignia Class starship, a very new and advanced exploration/scientific vessel with interchangeable modules which can be swapped out for mission-specific needs. Their current mission is called Into the Unknown Part-I: To Hell and Back, and it looks like a fun and exciting adventure into an unknown nebula.

Our second sister ship is USS Triumphant, commanded by CAPT Michael Aravan. Triumphant is an Olympus Class starship, the largest in the fleet with a crew compliment of close to 3,000!. Their current mission is called Getting Acquainted, and is the ship's launch and shakedown mission. Unlike Obsidian Fleet sims, this sim is independent and part of the Band of Brothers federation. Triumphant is 18+ and does not endorse the events of the Alternate Universe.

Third on our list is USS Gemini, a Galaxy Class sim which closed down and recently re-opened under a new captain, CMDR Thomas Hansen. Those of you who were on board the old Gemini are probably familiar with Thomas, and he has done a great job so far of relaunching the sim and maintaining a high level of play. Their current mission is called Ripple, and looks like an exciting and dangerous humanitarian mission into Romulan space.

Our forth sister ship is USS Marshal, a brand new Sovereign Class battlecruiser commanded by LCDR Argess Cre, who happens to be our very own former-CDO-turned-engineer, Lawrence Gibbs (Brent). This new shiny ship is still under construction, but I have been told that missions will be combat-focused with a Wild West law-of-the-land type of theme. Although still under development, Marshal's website is up and running, so head on over and take a look!

Lastly, I'm happy to announce that our fifth sister ship is another new Nova Class starship which is currently under construction, named USS Einstein. Einstein is commanded by LCDR Seylein Alzar. I have been in touch with her over email and have offered my assistance, should she ever require it, and I hope the best for her new sim. Although still under construction, you may visit their website, as I'm sure that new content and updates will be coming soon.

If any of you are interested in joining an additional sim, please take a look at these five ships. They are a rather diverse group of sister ships, and I would imagine that there is something for everyone to be found in at least one of them.
