Weekly Update

We've had another excellent week of writing accompanied by some great solo and joint posts, and even a couple awesome personal logs. Very nice!
Currently we're about 10 days away from the start of the new mission, and the sneak peak is now online for everyone to view under the Upcoming Missions tab in the Episodes section of the website. More detailed information will become available when we actually begin the mission, so keep an eye on the news updates at the beginning of March for more information.
As you all know from our Yahoo! Groups list, our beloved XO has won OF's XO of the Year award, a very prestigious commendation which is more than well-deserved. Our other two nominees also placed very high in the runner-up categories, so overall it was a great showing and a testament to this crew how much of a fun game we run. Great job to all of you!
I have some more good news for us, and this time it comes in the form of a new player who joined us a couple days ago. Please welcome:
LTJG Elijah Williams IV, Geologist
Congratulations on your new assignment and welcome to Galileo! Elijah joins us a part of our planetary science team which will be heavily featured in our upcoming mission. I'm very excited to have such a large Science department and I can't wait to see what we can come up with in the coming months.
The ship refits are now complete and I will have a finalized deck listing and updated ship tour ready for everyone by the end of the month. In the meantime, please don't forget to contact our quartermaster (Hudson - PNPC Mott) with your roommate requests. If no request is sent in by the time we depart Earth on our new mission, you will be assigned a random roommate who you may or may not get along with ;)
Lastly, a reminder that personal logs and Crew's Choice Award votes are due by the end of the month. We will continue doing awards this month despite my mini-tantrum a couple weeks ago, so feel free to nominate your colleagues who you think are the most deserving. Please note that a player cannot win the same award twice, so please check to see which awards they have already received before nominating them for new ones.
That's all I can think of for now. Happy simming!
-Jay
